Being diagnosed with a brain tumor is a nightmare and turns your world upside down.

I fortunately very little time between my being diagnosed with meningioma benign and being surgically removed, but the time was spent frantically trawling the internet trying to find some answers to my questions why, how and what to do. I managed to find medical documents on the subject, but I do not have a medical degree was at a loss to understand them. I found a lot of Brain Tumor Forums where I managed to scare myself stupid because I could not find any stories with a result positive gives me some encouragement, and believe me, I needed it. It seems that survivors should not be so happy to be alive after his ordeal was too busy to living life to put on paper and tell their stories.

My happy world was struck by lightning on July 14, when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I had a brain tumor, which had to be surgically removed on July 19.

I was probably luckier than most with respect to the position of my meningioma tumor was a fabulous doctor with a vision and I was a neurosurgeon maximum rate on my side. I also had the will and determination to overcome this small stumble on my life.

I have had very little disease in my life and have never been in hospital for any reason. You have the right, I have my tonsils and my appendix and I've never broken a bone in my body or had a baby. Notable is that I escaped a visit to the hospital for 48 years? But, boy, when I do, I do style big!

After waking up one morning in mid-June, he reached over and started kicking my leg involuntarily at intervals of one second. Just to ensure you have the right image, I do not mean a failure to score a goal of victory, more of a soft film, as if trying to get the sand out of fingers feet. I grabbed my leg, pulled him back to try to stop him, he got out of bed and stood in it, but that did not work. It was a little scared – Who likes to be out of control? Certainly not me!

I thought they might have caught a nerve in his back. I thought why not I know. I have no medical training. It seemed like a plausible explanation to me at the moment. Because of this diagnosis, I, I decided to put the incident on hold and see if it happened again. Well, guess what? It took a couple of weeks, but yes, it did happen again. As before I'm embarrassed say I let it happen twice before visiting the doctor.

The point of this story is that the symptoms of a brain tumor come in all appearances depending on their position and what part of the brain are affected. My brain tumor is placed in the top of my head on the right hand and due to growth was the struggle for space and the restriction of the nerves on the left side of my body, ie, my leg.

Listen to your own body because if something out of the common is happening there is a reason.

I am pleased to report that I came through this ordeal with flying colors without feeling any pain. Now I have a very good story to tell at parties, my scar is completely hidden when people around me is complaining about the small details usually may lead to a sense of proportion, asking them on a scale of 1-10 as compared to brain surgery.
A meningioma is a tumor of the meninges, which are protective membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Malignant meningiomas are extremely rare. Most meningiomas are found to be benign, account for nearly 1 in 5 of all primary brain tumors are more common in women than in men. As with most brain tumors, the cause of a meningioma is unknown and research is carried out on the possible causes.
