At the edge of insanity by the author George Wilhite is like a perfectly cooked steak … dark outside and a little blood in the center. This collection of fiction has eight very different stories, each Wilhite showing great talent and vast knowledge of the horror genre. His work has already prepared for Poe and Lovecraft. But let me tell you, Wilhite's own twisted style and distorted voice is evident in every page.

The opening novel, Victor Chaldean and the Portal of the sentence the price of admission. Victor is desperate to solve the disappearance of his wife. After you start having strange visions, seeking help from a psychologist studying the paranormal. An experimental drug has fractured Victor in a kingdom, a place caught between life and death struggle in which to find his wife lost and every day more convinced that it's crazy.

The following are gossips. I settled on a great read as I hooked Wilhite quickly with a history of the Earth all but stripped of human life. A former combat soldier and a teenage girl found a special bond after saves his life. To survive they must trust each other and keep moving to avoid the mysterious gossips. The only problem for me was how fast it is completed.

On checks and balances, alcoholic John breezes through the first of twelve steps to recovery. It is step eight – to make peace with those made damage – which struggles with most. If I could make a trade, an agreement to skip this step. But who or what would a bargain?

Lars kills money. He is very good at what he does. When it comes to clothing, only the best will do for Lars. Gangster in New Clothes, Wilhite attempts a short in the style of the old TV series Twilight Zone. The result is an amusing tale of fear. One second after Lars gets handmade suit, which is in front of his checkered past and step by step, is very close to madness.

Wilhite then gives two striking examples of the old adage: less is more. A request from the cradle and the The characters are sharing "flash fiction" at its finest. Not a word is lost – both of these stories quickly put a chill down the spine, if not a smile on his face.

All good things must end, and I think Wilhite saved the best for last. A Tale of Two Moons is a classic werewolf, possibly could explain the origins of these legendary monsters.

Profane Masque takes us beyond the edge "of madness, delving directly to full blown insanity. Rhonda and Jeff are happy newlyweds … Does it? Rhonda becomes obsessed with the fact that Jeff has never spent a night with her on Halloween their time together. This is Rhonda fixing the venue for a strange ritual of a night of Halloween. His experience there, and later the birth of his child a day lead to madness and a horrible murder.

In eight of these stories, whether novels or short, the ability of copyright in the character development, and crisp dialogue page is of a cutting edge twist. It pulls the reader with interesting and well drawn characters, without the brutal and senseless violence of free sex is has become so common in today's horror. I recommend On the edge of madness, and look forward to tracking, silhouette of Darkness. I doubt that it will take time before major publisher signs Wilhite, because their work deserves to be on the shelves alongside the likes of Peter Straub, Thomas F. Monteleone.
