im writing a book. whats your opinion?

i have only written about 5 pages so far and that only explains the main character and her family life and that of her guy best friend that she secretly likes.
im torn between two ideas. one would be a supernatural story or the other is based on some sort of accident, and she ends up stranded on a island and has to fight for survival.
so there are my ideas at the moment.
what do you think?
which one would you prefer to read?
or do you have a better idea what i should write about?
what is your favorite type of book?
what types would you enjoy reading most?
id appreciate any suggestions.

Okay, never write continuous pages in a book about a character. Never start a story by launching into the whole background story. What I find best is to slowly unravel it to the reader – so after a while introduce a new piece of information, and sometimes it can be said in dialogue – this makes it a lot more interesting.

As for your two ideas, why not write both? I’m writing a story, and I have two alternate endings – which would take up chapters – one is a revolution and one is suicide – I plan to write both and see which I like better.

Since you’re only starting your book write whichever you prefer first, what does your heart go to? If you sit down and write which idea would it be? The plot is up to the writer

My favourite type of book – I like quite a lot of genres, teen vampire stories isn’t one of them, thankfully I’m past that phase. I like books with some romance, it doesn’t have to be the main plot, but I do like a bit. Mystery is also very good.
