Can I get Crash Course in College 101?

Can you answer in this format

Academics/attendance-

Dorms(includes bathroom setup, noisy neighbors, drunk students)

Transportation(Can you just get up and leave campus as long as you come back before curfew?)

Extracurriculars(preferably academic, what are they like)

Girls(ahem.. you know what I’m asking about! Will there be plenty of times to *snuggle*?)

Any VERY IMPORTANT MUST KNOW tips for survival-

Academics/attendance-
Study habits are WAY different than high school. Most professors will help freshman learn the ropes though. Most of my classes allow you to miss 4 classes (unexcused) before they fail you, others of mine have no class attendance requirement. I would always suggest going to class. I’ve gotten A’s in classes that I KNOW I shouldve gotten a C in, only because I always went to class.

Dorms(includes bathroom setup, noisy neighbors, drunk students)

I never lived in a dorm, only because I had friends who had bad experiences. This also depends on your college. At my Univerisity we have the two man dorm rooms which is basically one big room with two beds and a “community” shower hall. They also have really nice Honors Dorms where the students have individual rooms and a nice living room. I prefer to live alone though. You will find that some kids get into college and must release their inner demons…their drinking and party life could interfere with yours.
Having rooms with friends can be fun though. The Honors dorms are set up so that each floor houses only students from specific majors. IE first floor- Health Professions…2nd floor- Education ect..

Transportation(Can you just get up and leave campus as long as you come back before curfew?)
At my University we no longer have a curfew. It is 24 hours, however, if you want someone to enter your dorm you must sign them in. Otherwise you can do as you please. You just can’t drink in the dorms.
I had a friend who attended a Christian Private College in Pensacola. They were not allowed to even hold hands with a person of the opposite sex. So it just depends on your school.

Extracurriculars(preferably academic, what are they like)- Again, depends on your school. My University offers a variety of clubs and recreational things, we even have a rock climbing center. After the first few semesters it really feels like home. There are lots of clubs that support programs ad majors and it is a wonderful way to meet people.

Girls(ahem.. you know what I’m asking about! Will there be plenty of times to *snuggle*?)

You will meet LOTS of girls. Like I said, our dorms allow you to have boys/girls but you must sign them in and I think that they can only stay over night on weekends.

There is alot to change regarding studying and time management. But college is a great experience, especially if you get involved.
