Daily Survival

We have seen a week where investment markets have been more than 20%, followed by a recovery in the days when the market rose by 11%. Let be blunt: This kind of volatility will continue for some time. As I talked with many of my clients over the past few weeks, the feelings that have shared full range from despair to euphoria. Unfortunately, this whirlwind of emotions has begun to affect other aspects of their lives. Please do not let this happen to you.
I think it's time to get back to basics, and I have a very special conversation with you. Hour by hour, we are bombarded with a flurry of information contradictory. I worry that the media hype that has focused on sensationalism and lack important. The press continues to rotate about the financial world would have to worry, struggle and panic on financial markets and the U.S. economy. In his view, the market is on a path of destruction that is beyond the capacity of nature or man to save, surely the tolls at the end of our financial system as we know it. Why intelligent human beings who torture like this? Because the news makes emotional hype and make money. The whole point and spreads its tenderness when the chief financial advisors are the journalists who exploit their fears. You need someone you can trust to help you sort through the news and stay focused on what is truly important at times like these. I would be remiss as their tax and financial professional if you are not delivering the value of my personal and professional experience and perspective in times like these.
I assure you that nothing is happening today is unprecedented – though it may be happening on a larger scale – and that none of this is natural. What is happening today is how the cleaning system of the excesses. And lead to a healthy renewal of the global financial system so that today even augurs we can imagine. We have seen that happen before and we've seen bouncing stronger than ever.
Upon hearing the news daily, Here are some points I want to keep firmly in mind:
1. Not all respondents in the news is an expert.
2. The main problem we are experiencing today is not lack liquidity. Recent data from the Federal Reserve, American homes have nearly $ 12 billion in cash. This is sufficient to pay the mortgage every household in America.
3. What we have here is a crisis of confidence.
4. We've been here before and come back stronger.
Amid uncertainty, is valuable to reflect on what is really important. In times like these, we must return to basics and delve into the important values we hold dear.
It's really all about the people in our lives. I remember that in October 1987, following the biggest drop in one day on the market, I saw Louis Rukeyser's Wall Street week. He said, "It's only your money, not his life. All that I loved you a week ago still loves you tonight – and that's a heck of a lot more important than numbers brokerage in a statement. The birds are singing, the crocuses bloom, babies and puppies are lifted gurgling on her lap and drift happily to sleep, even when the stock market temporarily insane. And now that's all complete in perspective, let me say, 'Oh. And Eek. And the doctor! "
Because I think in today's market, with its views of sage, I know I'm right. It's really about values – the values. As a people, are brave, independent, resourceful and have seen (and survived) dramatic times before. As individuals, all investors have been cautious and sparing. This is an opportunity only to refocus on the fundamentals that got you here and teach the next generation aa:
1. Spend less than you earn
2. Saving for a rainy day
3. Making sound investment decisions today
4. Using asset allocation to balance and diversify our investments
We all know that there are no guarantees in life. Even with the uncertainty in this market today, many things in our worlds are stable, loving and alive. With all the crises that have survived in my life, I learned to get up every morning and be thankful for the new day: I get up every day counting my blessings. That feeling of gratitude has given me strength and encouragement to achieve great things in the face of difficulty. You can do the same.
Remember, hindsight is always 20/20. When we look back at this time in six months or a year – or 10 years, we want to make sure we can say that:
1. We have kept the head and intelligent decisions were made in the face of conflicting information.
2. We take care of what mattered most, cultivating love and trust with our friends and family.
3. We stayed focused on the tried and true principles that brought us here and support us through times like these.
4. We have taken this great opportunity to teach financial lessons to our children and grandchildren.
With That said, I reiterate that we are really living moments historical. I think the best days of America are always ahead of her. And we will wait patiently for more rational market. Just because the world crazy in this current craze not mean we have to participate.
So in times like these, we need to access common sense and courage U.S. has been through many, many moments of uncertainty and dramatic change. This is the time to deepen and re-evaluate what is truly important to us and stay focused on what we know works and what not let this temporary event infect what is most important to you.
