I know the IHC lottery is for a movie, but then why is it on tv?

So I get that it’s a website run by sony, and it’s part of a movie thing. What I don’t get is why they would ad the website as a real survival lottery on tv….
I just saw a commercial for it saying scientific research indicates there will be catastrophes in 2012 and the ihc has set up this lottery to give everyone a chance
something along those lines…
Why?? I don’t get it.
this is crap its trying to make the movie have hype its just scaring ppl i believe in God when God decides to take me then i want him to. who cares about a lottery with God you just have to ask Him for forgiveness and He will asure you a spot in heaven
