I'm writing a horror story and would like your opinion on something?

OK what is a horror story set in idyllic English who suddenly finds himself in the heart of a supernatural terror. My protagonists are heading there for a weekend of rest and are trapped in the middle of she. I'm starting the story in anything other than a vein of horror, will fund the couple's preparations for the holidays and even a little of his journey throug hthe field in August way, with no hint of what is expected of them. No metion of something vaguely unsettling or suopernatural. My plan is then a blow-themslves are under siege in the picturesque old town, along with a handful of terrified people. The tone of the story will change completely for a horrifying fight for survival. That's where I hope the impact will establish at the sudden change, as if two completely different books have been wrongly joined. Question: How long should my good introduction? A chapter? Half of the book? Your Thoughs please?

Somewhere between one third and one quarter of the book would be a good length for introduction, if your characterization is strong enough to carry her. I suggest you try to include some foreshadowing of what will happen next in the story, but not be obvious. Subtle hints are enough.
