Crammers survival guide

Firstly we should say NO if you do not get is an option. We recommend not overcrowding as the only solution for the HSC, as flattering definitely putting coherent study on the long term. However, in life, the unexpected happen and you may find in a situation where you have only a few days or even only 1 day before an important exam.

Often, if something happens and it is no fault own, the school may be lenient and make arrangements to be fairer to you (for example, you can arrange to sit an additional examination at a later date). However sometimes it is clearly our fault for not being prepared. For example, sometimes for negligence, a student can find information on an important exam just days before going to do. In these situations, the school administration is less sympathetic and is unlikely to receive any special treatment. Therefore, we have assembled this brief guide to help you if you are ever in this situation.

First step: get an overview

Spend your first hour or so to get an overview of the contents of the entire section you need to study. For example, if you have an upcoming exam dealing with the whole module acid Environment for HSC Chemistry, spend their initial hours of reading through all your notes (class, school, your own notes, etc) and brief summary, to obtain an overview what are the main parts assessable.

Once you have a general idea of the content you can ask about the test, you will have a good idea of what is important and deserves more attention. It is important not to skip this step as it will save you valuable time. If you skip this step and go to school right from the start its content, you risk spending too much time in sections near the beginning, you can not carry most of the marks in the examination.

The parties main evaluable

In the school exams, the exam usually covers only one or two particular topics (called topic reviews) or only part of the course (for example, medium and yearlies trials). Hopefully will not have to memorize for something as important as testing.

These tests typically award most of the brands of one or two central themes or sections, you will need to identify their views before the start studying. If you are pressed for time, you should aim to study only the main parts in a nice touch to at least have a reasonable mark. Cramming is the ability of the first identification what the main parts of the exam will be (this may lower your ability to predict) and the preparation of these major parts in sufficient detail to make your mark be at least moderately satisfactory.

The other parts that are not part of the main section of the examination should be reviewed at a lower priority. The reason is because if they are multiplying, this means that not enough time to study the content correctly. Therefore, while it may not be able to score top grade, can prioritize the most important points and study them in greater detail than the side of the points.

All the sleepless nights

All the sleepless nights not recommended because you will be very sleepy the next day. During the day after, while you may not feel too much sleep, memory retention and recall will be terrible. You may not be able to remember more of the things you have studied, although it was the night before because sleep allows your brain to organize thoughts coherently. If you do not get enough sleep, your mind is in chaos and disorganized state and will not be able to remember information efficiently and reliably.

However the effect on memory retrieval, taking all the sleepless nights with high caffeine dose is very healthy for the body. While energy drinks like V, Red Bull, etc market, like energy drinks that keep you awake, taking tests largely under the influence of caffeine is really bad for memory recall and concentration. If you find that they have absolutely no time to study the content and only 1 night left before the test, it better be:

 • Study up around 1-2 am, then sleep the hours they can and wake up at the usual time

 • Sleep at the usual time, set an alarm at 5 am and the study of a few hours before school

Both options work, because sleep is significantly better than no sleep. You will be more awake, aware and able to concentrate much better as a result of have some sleep.

After the test

After the exam, you should still find the time to review the content they had that meter. The content is converted into knowledge for subsequent reviews and the external HSC exams. Therefore, you should not let the content back, because from its overcrowding, may have lost many subtle points or fundamental principles. It's a good idea to review the entire section that overflowed of people, as if you've never seen before, to ensure that no gaps in their knowledge for future reviews. If you have the time to do this, then it is highly recommended.
