As a knapsack and walking has become more sophisticated, people have become more daring, and sometimes even reckless. Humans apparently have a inherent need to prove they can survive in the desert. More and more backpackers hikers and climbers are more and more in the unknown jungle. These are not campers weekend. Rather, nature lovers, these are grave and who seek and find there own truth, every time you venture outdoors. There are obvious gear and equipment using both traditional and futuristic. This article will attempt to verify some of the items accepted for packing, as well as some new options to consider.

When packing, no matter what type of activity to be undertaken, there are several unwritten rules one must observe. First, you must pack light, and include the basics of food, water and a way to purify it, first aid kit, and some sort of fire starter. A map and a compass, and you have an idea where to go and how to get there. Include some sort of knife or multipurpose tool that can perform a variety of tasks, from cutting to the elimination chips branches. Do not forget your sunglasses and some sun screen. A flashlight and extra batteries, even if you are taking any type of lamp. Now this is very important. While trying to keep the light, you should take extra food, as well as rain wear and extra clothing, including a hat.

There are two schools of thought regarding the use of futuristic equipment. I am referring, of course, GPS technology and the beacon. Purists do not want anything electronic, the other camp feels they should take advantage of anything that Get home safely. Current costs of these devices makes them prohibitively expensive. Moreover, in the case of an injury, these units do not give the exact location of a victim, so you still need some type of device signaling, as a mirror or whistle.

I do not think everyone's future must be electronic.
