What is the advantage of high humidity to the survival of most land animals?
Land animals lose water simply with respiration, which needs to be replaced by drinking. Higher humidity reduces this loss, because there is less evaporation in the lungs if the air is already humid.
Also, high humidity is usually associated with more rainfall, and a drinking water source for land animals.
