survival books review

In 1859, Charles Darwin, English naturalist, published one of the most important books in the history of science. This book is now popularly known as "On the Origin of Species", although the full title was in fact "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life. "

The contents of the book explains, in some considerable time, the ideas of Charles Darwin that had developed about a quarter of a century since his trip to five years (1831 to 1836) throughout the world in the Royal Navy ship, HMS Beagle. The core of these ideas was the idea of evolution by natural selection.

Many people today confuse what Darwin's contribution to science was:

* Some people think Darwin's theory refers to the origin of life ( "spontaneous generation"). Darwin real note to address this issue (although do some speculation in private letters and perhaps other writings) – Your work is really concerned about how life changes over time, and new species emerge (the "evolution").

* Other people think that Darwin was the first to propose the idea of evolution. This is illogical. The idea of evolution – ie, successive generations organisms change over time – can be traced back to the ancient Greeks. In modern times, natural philosophers of the ages 19 18 and principles (including own grandfather Charles Darwin, Erasmus Darwin), were widely theories. discuss what the contribution of Darwinian evolution was, however, was to propose a mechanism, namely natural selection, by which organisms can evolve adaptations to their environment, and by which new species arise (and today, natural selection is recognized by scientists as the driving force of evolutionary change adaptation).
