Re: Stephen Hawking’s question on survival, does anyone know of sustainable, eco-communities in existence now?

Our natural resources, healthcare systems, economic practices all suffer from communities gone awry. Yes, it boils down to people and their choices to connect resources that sustain life. Current conditions point to a lifestyle that has shifted from survival to power. In addition to political strife, each new natural disaster reminds us of past extinction of cultures and collapse of empires. They remind us that we really are dependent on the earth and its evolution, not the people. People can change cultures, economies and politics, but have yet to guarantee our water tables or ecology can sustain us into the next millennium. I’m not sure but have you seen those enclosed glass bubble that have little plants and shrimp in them thst are suppose to live for 8 years without feeding them or anything. Those things are cool, i think they were invented by Nasa while trying to come up with an enclosed community that can sustain itself..
