College football playoff?

What will it take for college football to get their heads where they need to be; or will they need to get a glass stomach first. Sure, right now every week counts but for who…the tv ratings?! A true playoff system would make it survival of the fittest as opposed to survival of the luckiest and weakest schedule so as to get as many wins as possible as it is right now. If college football (most certainly not the players) wants to keep worrying about bowl payoffs and tv ratings they are missing out on the EXTRAORDINARY ratings that would be, should there be a playoff as highly touted teams would be playing week after week come December. Also, a true, legit playoff system would eliminate so-called “tough” or “weak” conferences. What are your thoughts?

I’d love to see, but I’m not holding my breath.
The system, as it is now, benefits everyone except the fans. They obviously don’t care what we think, because we still watch the games anyway.
Right now, half of the teams win their final game of the season. Less coaches get fired because of that. Also, for the college athlete, the “bowl experience” really is quite extraordinary. They are treated like celebrities in the host city. They are showered with free gifts, that the NCAA allows them to keep for a change, and it’s a memorable experience for most of them, not just the top 10 teams.
The monetary tie-in with the bowls, and college presidents also can’t be underestimated.

Yea, it would be nice to see a playoff, but I don’t see it happening in my lifetime.
