Can I play survival mode in Left 4 Dead offline or I have to be on XBL?

L4D "Survival Mode" offline? I heard that was possible, but then again, I do not really trust people I know so …. Can you play the new offline mode, or really that stupid? I'm not always able to go on XBL so if possible, would save me much time and my XBL account damn time!

Yes you can. Go to play football after selecting nothing (survival, the campaign against), with friends, start your own lobby (x). Go to the option for survival and there you go. You can choose any level and play with a friend.
