The survival of man / wilderness endurance show as Man vs. Wild?

Anybody know of a man for survival or a kind of resistance desert spectacle as Man vs. Wild is on the discovery channel? I am very interested in the ability to survive in extreme conditions for long periods of time. Is there such a community or a database or even a popular movie of that sort of thing? I saw Kenny vs Spenny who can live in the nature of the P long but thats kind of fans:
