Survival Schools California
Moving at age 18?
Okay.. my plan right now.. is to move to California and August is my birthday. I’ll be 17.. can anyone give me any tips of how to make it out there? i’m willing to get a job and do whatever that needs to be done i just need to get out there ASAP for really good reasons. but the thing is when i’m 18.. I have one more school year left.. i think that would be the only thing thats standing in my way of having a really good chance of survival. So if you have suggestions if I should save money this year or whatever I need to do PLEASE help me! ^-^
You want help? Good advice? Tips? Then change your plans.
Stay at home until you’re 18. NOBODY is going to rent you an apartment. And don’t try to stay on the streets, either, unless you have a desire to be on the 6:00 news, credited as the person in the body bag.
I don’t think your reasons are going to be compelling as how HARD it is going to be out here for you. If you’re smart, you’ll find some way to make it for a couple months or more in your own town.
The only thing standing in your way? It’s no big deal, just money, education, and skills. How are you going to afford the $900 per month for a single apartment? Even rooms to share cost $600 per month. And that’s just rent.
How much money do you have now? You’ll need a miniumum of $5000 to make the move out here.
These are just the hard facts. I don’t make them up, and I take no joy in telling them to you. I’ve seen too many strung-out junkies, too many prostitutes, and too many dead bodies to just stand idly by while you propose a plan that’s doomed to fail.
You have NO idea what you are getting yourself into. This is NOT MTV. It’s not like that here, that stuff is all made up. So stay at home and save up until you come up with a better plan. Get some skills, some experience, stop doing the stuff that pi$$es off your parents, and come out here when you are better prepared.
