It happened again! The boss asked her to stay late and prepare a presentation of last minute, when he had planned to go home and work on your business. You feel sick to your stomach, resentful, and despair about their ability to make your business work.

Or how about this: You are working in your business, and you're in the flow and feel very productive. But people keep interrupted. It could be a new partner, I often called at all hours. Closer home could be your child, spouse, parent, partner, or some kind of relationship.

Someone has credit for their work. Someone is going through their personal workspace or your desk at home. Someone steals your potential customers or clients. Someone eat your food. Someone touches you without asking, and feel very uncomfortable, but say nothing. These are all examples of how their boundaries can be violated.

Anger is a common tip for closure of border violations. Maybe you gets angry and yells at the others to leave alone, only to feel remorse later. This type of behavior will drive away potential colleagues and customers. You may have other feelings, also, such as fear, resentment, disgust, shame or pain. Top permitted to become aware of what you are feeling, the feelings they are experiencing are very good clues about what is happening. Ask yourself: "Why do I feel this way?" What happened before the feeling? Who or What does this person or situation remind me? "

I am sure you are familiar with the common use of the word boundary as the line boundary between one thing and another. You automatically think of national boundaries or city limits. Did you know that people have boundaries, too?

* We have a physical boundary, our skin.
* We have an interpersonal boundary, which is what we are comfortable with the physical distance between ourselves and another. Some people feel comfortable standing close to people than others can tolerate.
* We have an emotional boundary. That feelings are yours, and you are receiving people around you? I'm sure they've had experience of confidently walking into a room and the tension is so thick you can cut with a knife.
* We have many other borders, including border intellectual, spiritual boundaries, sexual boundaries, and financial limits, to name a few.

Pia Mellody, in his book "Codependence face," the names of five different ways that we can experience our borders.

1. Boundary fault. They are flexible, allowing a few things as well as provide protection of others. It's like a cell wall: a "semi-permeable membrane that allows traffic through the membrane of the cell's choice.
2. The limits do not exist. We did not know that the have and have not learned how establish them. That makes us vulnerable to any assault to come.
3. Limits damaged. At certain moments, certain people, we can say "no" and put limits, and sometimes with other people who can not.
4. Walls instead of boundaries. After being wounded several times, we put up walls of silence, words, anger or fear to protect ourselves. But it is terribly lonely here, and can not connect effectively with people to do business from behind a wall.
5. Remove the limits do not exist in the walls and back. This happens when spread our wings to take a risk of leaving behind the wall. A result painful sends us running behind the wall. As you practice and gain confidence in our ability to set limits, this limit will eventually become a boundary intact.

In short, learning to set boundaries is an essential skill for new entrepreneurs to learn. Let's face it, starting a business and develop the necessary skills to sustain their growth requires energy. You do not have the energy to waste on people who will not buy your product or service, those with ulterior motives, and sapping the time needed partners. It's time to give up his childhood socialization to always be "nice." Heresy, I know, but it's time to let others be responsible for their own feelings so you can build your business. You can choose to be firm and matter-of-fact rather than abrasive in setting limits.
