Survival Tips In The Woods

survival tips in the woods

To be young and broke is the norm for a large percentage of young people.

Being young and broke when traveling abroad is a different matter, though.

It's the nightmares are made, especially for those traveling on a budget in a different country where the most famous person you know is dead and has a memorial for all tourists want to see another.

So what should you do? Well, the first two things that probably are standard. One of them, return to search his backpack and all possible hiding individual pockets of coins or, if you're lucky, the paper money. Two, get help.

Now, in for help is difficult. Should be a candidate for Ms. / Mr Friendship during backpackers hostel ', you can probably ask someone for help while waiting for Daddy-o send some emergency money.

If you're lucky in that department and their currencies are not enough to get another night in the cheapest hostel City … and would have to wait until tomorrow before your money arrives, head for the airport and sleep there.

If you are unable to get in touch with friends and relatives back home that can help you, head of the embassy / consulate. They will help you out.

But before all of that can happen, do something about it.

Be polite. The person you just shared stories that could help in case something happens. Hide sufficient cash – In place, deep in his bag, etc. – that can withstand until you get emergency help from home.

Give your parents all the information you need and make sure you know where the (as an example) closest Western Union is in the city you're visiting. This would ensure the rapid influx of cash emergency.

If possible, before paying his hostel. In this way, you have a place to sleep and only have to worry about what you can eat.

Knock on wood and hope that you would not have done any of this, the next time you start wandering.

I was asked about sleeping in cars if it occurs the same problem. Personally, I would not recommend it at all. However, if you are desperate and short of money …

From the top of my head, Here are some tips for budget travelers may face no choice but to sleep in their cars:

Women traveling alone should not do at all.

Looking for 24 / 7 truck stops and car parks at the hospital. Both places are more likely to be controlled and are tolerant to people to grab a couple of sleep in their cars.

Never park on the side of a deserted road. Search for campgrounds in the area where you drive. Not only will it be much safer, you will also have access to toilets.

Go to a gas station and ask if you can park and sleep there. Do not sleep with the engine idling. You may not wake up anymore.

I hope, however, you save a little more in order to pay for accommodation (there are very few in all) before starting his trip.
