Cannot connect between certain times!?

Between 17:05 and 23:15, My router stops me playing online on My Playstation 3 and watching Videos on Youtube. I believe this is a router firewall issue.

I Use a Netgear DG834GT.

The times never change, and I want to play ‘Survival’ in Metal gear Online. But that starts at 6:00 and ends at 23:00 (Aint that a kick in the teeth).

I’ve fixed this once by factory settings, but this was temporary and soon returned to not connecting, I’ve tried forwarding ports for my PS3, but that hasn’t worked either.
I checked my rules, and the scheduel thing, nothing…

The fact that it does this ON SCHEDULE makes me question the firewall rules. This router has a feature that allows “A single schedule can also be created so firewall rules and website blocking lists can be applied at specific times of the day or week. If the router comes under attack or detects a port scan it can send an alert to one email address and this can also be used to notify you if a user attempts to access a banned website. Detailed activity logs are maintained and these can be emailed to the same address at regular intervals.” (from the owners manual.)

If something set or triggers that, then you have a scheduled shutdown! So check all the firewall rules. The fact that you were able to Fix it with factory settings, even more points to that possibility.

Other things to check are see if your ISP throttles use during peak hours, many do these days.

OK,if that didn’t work, try putting the computer you want to use in the DMZ and see if it works! IF it does, its still either the firewall or forwarding issues, If it doesn’t, its your ISP!
